Executive chef: Ralph Pausina

From the OpenTable editors: Antoine’s is the county’s oldest continuously operating restaurant and a special-occasion destination for its opulent setting and elegant, French-Creole fare. Sit in one of 14 gilded dining rooms to feast on favorites like oyster Rockefeller and soufflé potatoes, both original to the restaurant. Cap the meal with a classic baked Alaska or the house chicory coffee, laced with cognac and triple sec and flamed tableside—it’s New Orleans, after all.

Wonderful combinations of ingredients for our meals in a great historical location. The tour of the various rooms was a special treat after the meal.

We had a great waiter, Jon, but the waitress was not friendly or knowledgeable. The Maitre d was also not very friendly or gracious for such a high end restaurant. A beautiful place, but it would have been a total disappointment without our waiter Jon, who made an extra effort. I had the $40 lamb chops which were very tough. My son had soft shell crabs which were mediocre & disappointing. The baked Alaska was totally underwhelming. . I would not return based on the service & the food. The place itself is interesting, in a museum sort of way, but it otherwise failed to live up to the hype.

Food was amazing, per usual. Service was pretty slow, our poor server was working on her own. But she was lovely and did her best to keep up with all of her tables. Can't wait for our next trip back.

I booked this restaurant in February for an Easter Sunday brunch. I had viewed the brunch menu online and identified some options we’d like. There was absolutely no indication at ANY point leading up to my reservation that they would only be offering a Prix-Fix menu. The menu did not have a single breakfast item on it. So I had crab cakes and steak (severely undercooked, definitely not medium that I ordered) at 10:30 in the morning. If I had been made aware of the limited menu selections, I would not have kept this reservation. It is absurd to me that there was no indication on open table, on their website, or when they called to confirm my reservation that the menu would not include any breakfast items. I was extremely disappointed and it was a stressful experience.
    Antoine'sResponded 2 days ago
Thanks for the feedback, Kelly. We're sorry to hear about your experience at Antoine's. We understand your frustration with the Easter Sunday brunch and apologize for the misunderstanding about the menu selections. We strive to provide clear and accurate information, and your feedback helps us improve. We're glad to hear that you found our service satisfactory, but we understand that our communication regarding the menu needs improvement. We hope you'll give us another chance to serve you better in the future.
