   Was looking for a place to eat on Christmas since I was just coming back into town that day. Was so happy to see Anthony’s was open. Anthony’s never disappoints. Their Clams Casino is one of my favorite foods ever. I appreciate them remaining open for Christmas. My guests also enjoyed their meal.

   We were so glad a few weeks ago to learn Anthony’s would be open on Christmas Day. Every aspect of our experience was outstanding as always including our server who was very gracious and attentive.

   Our Christmas Eve/birthday dinner was an exceptional treat for this party of 4. We made reservations for 7pm and were promptly seated. The ambiance is old time local family Italian American style- just the atmosphere that I was looking to share with my best friend and our two sons; neither of whom had ever experienced the magical “Feast of the Seven Fishes”, which Anthony’s was featuring this day (they also featured several non-fish and vegetarian dishes if you can’t or don’t like seafood/shellfish) Bread and dipping oils/butter were placed and quickly devoured by the crew. We ordered various appetizers including the fried calamari with a side cup of sauce and roasted grape tomatoes, buratta cheese with prosciutto, Caesar salad, beet and orange salad. Our entrees were varied , with a delicious pork ossobuco with rigatoni , beautifully braised and season; grouper francese with penne in lieu of the asparagus and mashed potatoes that were the sides; fiocchi alla carbonara (pear and cheese “purses” similar to small ravioli with a creamy carbonara. All delicious and warm. Desserts? Cannoli, lava cake with vanilla ice cream (like a deconstructed tortoni), amaretto di Saronno , and crème brûlée. Interestingly enough , no one selected the feast fish, which consisted of clams, mussels, mahi, shrimp, crab, lobster bits and scallops . I am in love with neighborhood mom and pops. The prices were not over the top, but the good and service were! Thanks, Anthony’s . Can’t wait for your Easter menu!

   Unfortunately we didn't know there was a limited holiday menu. We invited an 80 year old couple that are extremely picky eaters. They had studied the menu ahead of time and knew what they wanted to order. But those dishes were not available. We ask for spaghetti and meatballs. Also the waitress was annoyed with us for asking for something special and told us why they dont do substitutions on holidays. She did make an effort to accommodate with upcharges. No spaghetti available so made due with penne pasta and 2 meatballs from appetizer list. We frequent Anthonys and this experience taught us to avoid a holiday dinner here.

    Christmas Eve dinner menu was excellent. Accommodated kids requests..pasta with butter or sauce😀. Grateful for that! We absolutely love their bread and dipping oil! Service was top notch.
