   Our food was incredible and the service from Kamilla was even better! So attentive and checked in on us the perfect amount. So impressed with the drinks as well! Would recommend over and over!

   I took my husband out to dinner for his birthday. He's a big steak guy and I had heard about Animal and wanted to try it. We started with the delicious Japanese milk bread. So yummy! Followed by the TAGLIATELLE AL RAGU. Then the 24oz PORTERHOUSE which was cooked exactly how we wanted it. It was so tender. We had Mac& Cheese and brocolini as sides. We had the Gold Bar for desert. Highly recommend it! Everything was so tasty and delicious and the service was amazing (Rebecca - thank you!) Highly recommend this restaurant and can't wait to take our friends to it!

   The service was immaculate. The restaurant is beautiful. However they do need to work on the menu,  especially if they would like to last in the competitive Toronto restaurant scene. Nothing special about the menu and nothing really stood out about the food either. I never really noticed portion sizes at most restaurants but I do remember them being small here. I would love to see this restaurant thrive but they do need a facelift on the food. Beautiful interior though I would only come back maybe for some cocktails. I also did let them know that it was my anniversary if they could do something about that I believe they forgot I was told that dessert would be sent out with happy anniversary written on it. We still ended up just purchasing one ourselves.

   Our first experience was highly disappointing. The $800 Tomahawk Wagyu steak, which we specifically requested to be cooked medium, had to be sent back twice as it was served completely undercooked and bloody. The only dish we truly enjoyed was the Caesar salad. One of the sides we ordered, asparagus, was poorly portioned—just six pieces for a table of five. To address the issue with the steak, the staff brought out a dessert without consulting us—a cherry cake that no one enjoyed. Additionally, the atmosphere felt off, with overpriced, poor-quality food and ’70s disco music that didn’t match the setting or enhance the dining experience. Overall, it was an unsatisfactory and overpriced meal.

   The food and ambience of Animl was quite an elevated experience from your typical stylish Toronto restaurant. Our server Rebecca was absolutely amazing. Helped my date with her food restrictions by arranging different menu options and always being attentive. Will definitely come back to Animl. Thanks Rebecca 👍

   For an establishment that is only 1 month only, they are on the right track to being a staple GO TO spot. The owner Sasha was the ultimate gentleman and ensured that our night went smoothly. I will be going back for sure !

    This was a bumpy ride for me. I would have addressed my concerns to the manager, who was very present on the floor, too much so, doing relentless laps, but he visited every single table, some more than once, except ours. The good- the service was lovely, the room is stunning and Rosa the disco cow is bedazzling. The bad- The cocktails are great and considering they charge you for water at $9 bottle without offering tap, booze is the better value. I ate at 3 Michelin starred restaurants in Toronto alone in 2024 and not one surprised me at the end of the meal with water charges. This for me is thing of principal both environmentally and financially. The Caesar salad was very overdressed, and the croutons were not cooked enough out of a stale bread state. The bacon is, as others have said, excellent. The oysters came out without a spoon for the mignonette sauce; small attention to detail that I can forgive a very new restaurant for, however, one of the oysters was so small, by quality control standards it should not have left the kitchen. I've never been served an oyster this miniscule beyond the masses you might see on an all you can eat buffet. The mac n cheese came out warm, not hot, not piping hot as it should. This is a dish that needs to be hot to shine, or it gets gluey way too quickly. Which it did. The steak was ok, but you can get a great steak at a million other places in the city with better overall execution of the whole meal. Finally, the female waitresses are in short backless dresses. The male runners in pink velvet tuxedo jackets. While I appreciate the aesthetic of matching the men to the rooms colour scheme, I cannot help but feel the dress choice for the women is sexist and retrograde. These dresses will only accommodate certain body types which reads discriminatory, and that doesn't really have a place in 2025. This isn't the Playboy Club in the 1980's.
