   Lovely pub, roast was good, but cheesecake was terrible.

   Reasonable food marred by an unpleasant host. We reserved a table for 4 and there were 2 tables for 4 in the bar area. We tried to sit at the window table and the host insisted ours was the one in the back. We asked to be allowed to sit at the nicer table but he insisted that someone else had reserved that one. By the time we had finished our meal there was still no one seated at the window table. When we pointed that out after paying our bill he apologized but had no explanation for why he had refused to allow us to sit there. What terrible customer service.

   Very cosy and nice ambiance. Good service. We had the camembert in the oven. This was tasteless. Would not recommend. Others had the fish and chips which was good. I had the chicken kiev.. again not very tasty.. However, we had a nice evening and the wine was good!

   Good food (except basic pudding) and nice table service. We were asked to leave (increasingly unpleasantly) from 10pm as they were closing. This being an unusually early time (it was Dec 30th) I feel we should have been warned in advance that we would have to go by then. Our waitress was also uncomfortable when asked if she would get the 12.5% service charge….overall not impressed

   We had gone with 4 friends on a Sun and the roasts were ok, presentation not great... We wanted to give another go as we stay close by when travelling, so went back as a couple the following week and had a delicious meal, hot off the pan, beautifully presented and served with a friendly smile. Lovely interiors and good vibe... well priced and very happy to call it a local now!

   When we arrived it was 5 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. The service afterwards was good, but the food was woeful and really overpriced. The cauliflower soup was completely inedible. Three of us agreed it was worst soup we ever tasted. All in all a real disappointment.

    We had a group of 6 for a special catch up meal and the preChristmas vibe was great. Service was ok for the busy Sunday night but the meals weren't great. The share platter of cheese and meat was just sliced up food, not well presented... the 4 roasts and 2 haloumi mains we ordered were the same, just a pile on each plate. The actual food was tasty but lost in the appearance. We did go again on another day and the 2 of us had a good meal so this could have been an off day with our group meal, willing to try again as the pub vibe is great.
