Tried Altamirano for the first time this valentines day with their special prefixed menu. Service was great, nice lively atmosphere inside with a good selection of some festive music. Our food courses were quite good and pisco sour drinks we tried were also very good. Lobster risotto especially stood out as it was delicious and the portion size was huge. Would have given 5 stars overall but they ran out of scallops appetizer which we really wanted to try and short ribs main entree as well. Considering it was a prefixed menu for a quite a few dollars, that was a bit of a letdown. If they ran out of lobster risotto on top of that(which thankfully they did not) we would have considered getting up and leaving.

Went for Valentine's Day dinner. Food was pretty good, but it was a pre fixe menu and they didn't let us know until a day or two before the reservation when it was too late to get a res anywhere else. The menu didn't really feature Peruvian food, and was also $130 per person when we were expecting to spend like $75 each. Still enjoyable overall, and I'd like to try their regular menu at some point, but the last minute pre fixe thing was kinda annoying.

Reviewing only to make clear to others that dogs aren’t allowed on the “patio” — it’s not an outdoor patio/parklet but an interior, covered courtyard. We booked the outdoor seating option on OpenTable, and the they turned us and our dog away, which I understand, but the hostess and floor manager were a bit rude on our Valentine’s date night. Would recommend being more explicit outdoor ≠ dogs allowed on their website, OpenTable, and Apple Maps. We came back later and had great food, the presentation was awesome, and the actual servers were great.

Loved it! Fabulous Peruvian dishes with a tasty twist! Beautiful decor and great ambiance. Alejandro and Bernie made great cocktails fors. Our reservation was changed to the bar because of flooding in the patio and the manager Chris was made sure we were happy and well taken care of. Definitely will return!

First timers. We were greeted and seated promptly and looking around, the space is lovely. A few service hiccups but nothing major. The menu is very interesting and we enjoyed the ceviches, the lomo saltado and the arroz con mariscos. Excellent presentation. It's pricey, but the food raises the bar. Great addition to the neighborhood I'd say.

I visited this place with high expectations, especially after enjoying some incredible dining experiences in Lima, Perú. Overall, it was a mixed bag. The halibut ceviche was cut into larger pieces, which prevented the fish from being fully marinated—a bit disappointing. The ahi tuna was overly sweet for my taste, and unfortunately, the yuca bolitas filled with cheese missed the mark entirely. On a brighter note, the ají de gallina and the pisco drinks were outstanding—definitely among the best I've had in the Bay Area! The essence of Peruvian cuisine really shines through, and I believe there’s great potential for improvement in other dishes. The service and ambiance were fantastic, making for a lovely dining experience. I’m hopeful that with a few tweaks, this place could truly elevate its offerings. Hopefully next time I can say “Buenazo”!

Food is good but kind of expensive! Liked their original cocktail list much better than their new one.
