We first imagined Aloette to be the perfect diner that we’d want to dine in – a menu with a great cheeseburger paired with a fantastic and fun wine list, a long row of bar stools facing the bar and the kitchen, and an energetic atmosphere accented with an old school hip hop playlist. The buzz of the dining room mirrors the energy of the street on Spadina Avenue; the dining room itself mimics a train’s dining car. It’s a bistro-meets-diner-meets-internationally-inspired menu which is also representative of the diverse culture in Toronto. Our service team is upbeat and genuine but also deeply knowledgeable about the menu and offerings.

Brunch at Aloette was something we said we’d never do. But the city kept asking and we’re glad to be a new staple in the Queen West neighbourhood for mimosas, chicken and waffles, and piping hot coffees.

As you would expect, the food was simply stellar, and table service impeccable. I also appreciated the flexibility re extending my party's time at the table (one guest was an hour late). If I had to quibble: we were not allowed to check our coats (strange, since I was able to the previous week), expresso was not available, music was a tad too loud. Regardless, I will be coming back.

Great meal, in a fun, more fancy version of a diner. The food was well prepared, interesting and delicious! The entire experience was great and the staff was wonderful. Would definitely go there again. This time we sat at the counter next time might try sitting at a table if we can book far enough ahead.

The best experience, kindest service. Very cool interior. People aren’t joking about the salad or burger. Both are excellent. Highly recommend. Oh and the lemon pie!

What a gem! Truly outstanding small restaurant with amazing ambience and a fantastic brunch. Our server was very attentive and sweet. I got the pork belly, escargot and mushrooms with poached egg and it was one of the most deliciously interesting dishes I have ever eaten. The crunch and saltiness of the pork belly was a complement to the sweet escargot, the tender chew of the mushrooms and the creamy poached egg. SO good! My daughter got the crepes with a rich caramel sauce and caramelized banana with homemade ice cream on the side. We decided on the lemon meringue pie (as if we needed dessert!) which was easily the best one I have ever eaten. Get it! Go here! You’re welcome!

Amazing meal, definitely the best we had while we were visiting Toronto. We wanted a unique experience and I’m glad I booked this for us because it fit the bill! Amazing food, drinks, service, ambiance, etc. It’s a tiny spot so you will definitely want to make sure you make a reservation but well worth it. The cauliflower and fried chicken were highlights.
