We are regulars at The Alder so we weren't surprised that the Festive Afternoon Tea was fantastic. There was plenty of food, the layout was lovely and the staff are all fantastic.

1pm lunch booking. 2 courses. Almost empty and we weren’t served main course until 2.30pm. Starters were decent. My associates turkey & ham was decent. Table of 10 beside us returned theirs as cold . Mushroom risotto was awful. It obviously wasn’t stirred enough and was like sludge.

Have eaten here twice now and food has been really good on both occasions. There is a good choice available and the portion size is very substantial and therefore value for money. Only criticism I would give is that the service can be a little slow even when it's not busy....having said that, I will return.

Lovely food but place was empty. Which was odd on a bank holiday Monday. Staff was great and couldn't fault anything but would of been nice to have other customers there.
