   Not much choices for vegetarian. After our meal, we were trying to order cake and coffee but no dairy free alternatives considering it’s in a good location. Main meal cost between £40-£60 each, quite small portion, comes in a bowl. Ambience is very good as well as service but over priced for small portions of food. I particularly like the veg sushi roll comes in 6 pcs, I think it cost £12, matcha cake is good too. Starters starts from £8-£12, 4 small pcs of shiitake glazed mushroom & 2 small cut pcs of aubergine cost me £20.

   I’ve been to Akira several times. the servers are not trained, especially Rasa! she is dismissive of all requests you make. Tonight was just awful. It took 20 minutes to bring the drink, another 5 to bring a bowl of soup, 49 minutes for my main course and 50 minutes for my daughter’s main course despite having checked three times. It turns out she had bit out in the 3 orders even though we were the second table in the entire restaurant 6 pm. long story short, over the last two years, the service had deteriorated further, portions smaller, prices higher!

   Amazing Bento box looks beautiful and the Gaussian curve of flavours was amazing. Miso soup was on point.

   Absolutely fantastic service, food was 10/10 best authentic Japanese in london. We go out for dinner every week and It’s a tradition that the whole family rates a restaurant every time we go out. This is the first time we all had a 10/10.

   I booked a table at 2.30 for a lunch but when I arrive at 2.35 there they informed me - without apologies- that lunch service is over

   The service was outstanding, with a great level of attention and the team was in sync, prepared, and always ready despite of being busy. Absolutely amazing, what a team! I will most certainly be back! Congratulations to the chef and team as they have our together a magnificent menu, evocative of Japan’s best restaurants in downtown Tokyo

    Akira are good at what they do. Order from the set menu and you'll not be disappointed - pitch perfect sashimi in their trademark "box of delights" - and how can you go wrong with wagyu beef, with a little sushi set and miso soup on the side? Nice room, thoughtful service, good range of drinks. It's not cheap, but you wouldn't want it to be.
