Afternoon Tea at Roast offers a "lovely setting" above Borough Market with an "amazing experience" of delicious food and attentive service. The restaurant presents a stunning interior and delightful themes, like Halloween. While some guests note a "distinct smell of cooked meat" and occasional service delays, the overall experience is enchanting and "highly recommended."

Went for afternoon tea experience for an early valentines day. The staff from entry to table service were cold, or mostly absent from the dining area. At one point, 2 male waiters were speaking loudly with each other about a group of girls at another table and which they'd sleep with, served one table, then disappeared. The seating was cramped, with risk to your heads from plates being transferred. The savoury parts were cold. The salmon sandwich was dry. A few parts had 1 sad looking leaf as decor. Desserts were lovely. Scones were okay, the jam was nice. On the positive, there was enough that we were full. Wrong tea provided at start. Additional tea is £4.5 per pot (which were half filled), and this is not mentioned at all on the menu or whilst being seated. The decor was nice, and the new female staff member offered to take our pictures. There was little enforcement of the time requirement, possibly due to many of the tables being empty. Value was poor for the service and quality of food. There are better afternoon tea experiences for better pricepoints. Service charge is 15%. Overall, a disappointing experience.

My friend and I were celebrating both our birthdays . We had afternoon tea which was amazing and felt really full. We were presented with a little chocolate tart with a candle on. Very nice touch. We have booked to go again in April

Its a great place to go as it lioks so pretty. The afternoon tea was good and different because it was not just sandwiches so was filling. Unfortunately the service was not great and we were left with the empty plates and the server didnt even return to ask if we needed anything or ask if all was ok. We had to keep calling him over to ask for new plates and cutlery. I am not sure if I would go again or recommend it.

This is a very pretty restaurant above Borough Market. They serve a very good afternoon tea including vegetarian and vegan options. The crockery is so pretty it really enhances the experience. The only slight issue is this being a very meat oriented restaurant with an open plan kitchen there is a distinct smell of cooked meat in the air.

It was a really great experience. Tea was lovely, food was great, different to other teas but felt we could have had a few more sandwich choices.. A little pricey but the setting, ambience and florals made it worth it. Servers were attentive.
