Our afternoon tea is available to be enjoyed in a selection of unique spaces within Holmes Hotel London. Choose from our cosy lounge which features a fireplace, our tranquil pastel pink drawing room or have the option of dining al fresco on our Greenhouse Terrace, Secret Roof Terrace or Kitchen at Holmes Terrace. Outdoor seating is weather permitting and subject to availability.

Just saying that afternoon tea was advertised and we booked on Open Table. when we got there, they said they hadn't been serving afternoon tea since July. very disappointed as we scheduled our day around this.

The experience was nice and tasty. The food and tea were very good. Based on the site info, we expected a bit more riddles and puzzles, and not just the one we got. The service was excellent!

A nice cosy atmosphere, good selection of tea options and attentive staff. The scones were warm and fresh, probably the highlight of the food. The sandwiches were a bit bland and the dessert selection was a bit too sickly sweet and could do with some more variety in taste and texture.

Afternoon Tea: Strange to be offered scones first before sandwiches (the staff rectified this). However not enough savoury and too much sweet. Sandwiches were bland and not very tasty; scones were excellent. We sat in the lounge area. The staff were attentive to start with but then forgot about us. We were not offered a refresh of the tea and no-one came to see if we would like anything else (we would have happily moved on to a drink/cocktail had we been offered one - we were there for 2 hours, finally leaving at 6.30pm). We got the impression that this hotel is not used to serving Afternoon Tea, and the staff are not properly trained to do so. We are English (live locally) and didn't make a fuss; Americans would expect a far higher standard of service.

Die Reservierung gab es scheinbar nicht. Es sollte ein Geburtstag Essen werden. Es wurde schnell arrangiert was man merkte. Das Ambiente und das Essen waren dennoch sehr gut. Für dem Preis von 45 Pfund pro Person habe ich ehrlich gesagt mehr erwartet.

A lovely afternoon tea with a gorgeous selection of sandwiches and sweet treats. We added the Sherlock Pipe Negronis which were incredible. We had a wonderful afternoon in a small private corner in front of the fire - perfect for this time of year. The staff were very attentive and friendly which made the experience even better.

Holmes itself is a lovely environment. The afternoon tea was lacking in that the scones were bland (we did report but nothing was done), the cakes were either bland or overly sweet and the sandwiches were ok. Also, Holmes had run out of champagne, which is unusual for a hotel of this sort of standard.
