The food and tea were delicious and the service prompt and friendly but the bar setting was very loud and parking was a nightmare. No special food for kids though it was promised. Luckily my granddaughter enjoyed the scones which were delicious.

When we stepped inside, we were immediately confronted with hoards of people. Our reserved space was a small, round, knee-height table with one seat on a crowded bench (another guest had to be asked to move so we could sit down) and the other seat in the midst of the crowd, which resulted in several bumped elbows throughout the course of our dining experience. Our server, Caleb, was wonderful. He did his best to talk over the din of bar guests and clattering dishes to guide us through the menu. It took a while for our tea to come out, and quite a bit longer for the food to arrive, to the extent that we had both nearly finished our quickly cooling tea. The tea was fine, but nothing to write home about. When the food arrived, I noticed there were two of everything on the tray. When I made the reservation, I selected a table for two but only one afternoon tea menu. The fact that I was able to make the reservation this way led me to believe it would be fine for two of us to split one serving of food. We did it this way because our reservation was at 2:30 in the afternoon, and we didn’t want too much food. Before eating anything, I explained to our server that we were only expecting one serving of food. He explained that they “don’t really do that,” but told us to enjoy the food and he would take care of it. The food was… disappointing. The scones tasted like KFC biscuits, the bread on the finger sandwiches was stale, and the desserts were nothing special. Though we only ended up paying a little more than $100 (thanks, Caleb!), it is shocking to me that the Fairmont thinks what they served us that day was worth $200+, especially given the horrendously loud and chaotic environment in which it was served. I won’t be returning, and I urge everyone reading this to find somewhere else to go for afternoon tea, unless you want to spend multiple hundreds of dollars for bad food and mediocre tea in an unpleasant environment.

David, our server, was absolutely wonderful. He’s very knowledgeable, and incredibly kind! He made our entire experience (for the 2nd year in a row)! We really enjoyed being in the hotel area this year. It felt cozy and very festive for Holiday tea!

It took us 15 min to be seated for a 1pm reservation and I’m not thrilled that they moved tea service into the lobby. The food was also only ok - bread was dry, way too many sweets vs savory for the kids tower. Just not worth the price now that we are seated in the lobby, hunched over our food. We sadly won’t be doing this again as part of our holiday traditions.

There is nothing better than taking one's 8 year old granddaughter to her first High Tea at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel in Seattle. Our server, David, was delightful. He was attentive and spoke to Fiona directly like she was his favorite guest. David made our experience even better. The tea and towers were delicious. Thank you for an incredible afternoon.
