   What a gem! Amazing offerings on menu and specials. Best service we have had in awhile. Beautiful surroundings. All around perfect dining experience.

   We dined on a Thursday night in November and had a lovely meal. The food was outstanding starting with a sumptuous wedge salad and tasty shrimp cocktail. The leg of lamb was delectable and my ribeye steak was cooked to perfection. Our server was very good, although it was a little awkward when he offered to my wife for tasting, the wine that I had ordered. I wish the table had been set with a linen tablecloth - placemats are just not congruent with the otherwise elegant atmosphere. Special kudos to Brian, the manager, who immediately engaged us when the question of gluten sensitivity arose.

   Food and service were fantastic. I had the special with scallops. Every part of the dish was exquisite. We also had excellent service at Otesaga overall, but Clayton at 1909 was very congenial and professional. We appreciated the genuine care. Thank you!!!

   Beautiful view from the patio table. Delightful server from South Africa.Heaters and blankets kept us cozy. Excellent wine choices with personable sommelier. East Coast Oysters were plump and tasted great. Salmon delicious. Beef Wellington special underwhelming. Nice evening.

   We dined at the1909 restaurant for their Sunday Afternoon Tea. It was a wonderful experience. The selection of teas was broad, served in proper tea pots, and refilled on request. The staff was friendly and helpful with just the right balance of attention and space. The menu was delightful. We especially enjoyed the savory selections. The deviled egg dish was surprising and excellent. It may have ruined other deviled eggs for me since they won't be able to compare to these. We enjoyed the scones and the sweet dishes as well. We would come back again for sure.

    The ambiance and overall feeling in the restaurant was upscale. The service was PHENOMENAL. Karla was warm, inviting and knowledgeable of the menu, she was interactive with us without being too much, I would go back again and request her! The somalier was also very knowledgeable and friendly, he listened to our requests and what we were planning to order and the wine he suggested was delicious and a truly perfect accompaniment that we wouldn’t have ordered without his expertise. He checked in to make sure we were happy with it and wished us a happy anniversary on his way out. The complimentary chocolate truffles for dessert with a “Happy Anniversary” edible candy sign was a very sweet touch to end the evening. The house-made sourdough with the Sardinian flatbread and black garlic butter were delicious. My wife loved her wagyu flat iron with truffle butter, my dry-aged NY strip was cooked to a true medium, even being on the bone, but a little tougher and fattier than I expected so that was disappointing. The garlic spinach was heavily peppered and we kept chewing on uncrushed peppercorns which was not great. The smoked cheddar au gratin potatoes were delicious, but definitely didn’t need the fig jam on top. Overall, we were happy with the experience and would dine there again but try different items off the menu! The Otesaga hotel is stunning and we would love to also stay there in the future but driving over from our vacation cabin was worth it to dine for our anniversary dinner at the 1909!
