Named for the year that Dr. John Anderson purchased the land upon which the resort now stands, 1796 Room has now been re-launched as a signature steak and chophouse, serving steaks, chops, fish and poultry of the highest quality.

1796 uses only the highest quality 21-day aged USDA prime beef. Our meats are prepared at 1700° on our infrared broiler ensuring juiciness, tenderness and flavor.

Our world-class wine list is designed to match the quality of our food selection, and our professional staff is trained to recommend the perfect wine pairing with your meal.

    Service was excellent. Ambiance, just ok. Food was honestly a little disappointing. Steaks were overdone and under seasoned. Flavors of the sides were good, especially the steak sauce. Would expect more for the cost. Probably would not go back — Frontier Tavern had better food next door if staying at the Omni.

    Excellent service. Accommodating and friendly but a tad slow. I was okay with that because I had nowhere to be and was still in and out in a reasonable period of time. Server was the perfect mix of attentive but not overbearing. Food was probably 6/10? It was well cooked but unseasoned? That can sometimes allow the ingredients used to really shine, but somehow, it did not. The best part of the meal was the butter with smoked sea salt that went with the bread service. (That’s never a great look.) Cocktail was also strong and delicious and deserves mentioning.

    Had a wonderful meal and the service was excellent The dining area was spacious, and comfortable . We opted for one of the booth settings that made for a very intimate experience.

    I have eaten here 3 times. They always provide the best steak. Get their blue cheese crust and homemade steak sauce. The agua fresca is refreshing. Asparagus is oven grilled. Parmesan truffle fries are delicious. Skip dessert. You will be too full anyway.

    Service was good. Couldn’t cook steak to temp. Asked for med rare and first $80 filet was well done. Second fire came out as rare. Sides and deserts were mediocre. Poor showing for a highly rated restaurant. We will not be back.

    Wonderful! This was our second time dining at 1796 and it was just as great as the first time. The food was out of this world! The service was amazing, very attentive staff.
