The food was nice, but overpriced in my opinion. The staff were very friendly and visibly had a lot on their hands with such a busy day. Because the rear door was open, it created quite a strong draft as it was very windy outside. I would recommend it, but on a less busy and windy day.

Lovely friendly pub. Staff were friendly, welcoming and accommodating. Going above and beyond to make sure my 87yo mum was warm and comfy. Food was lovely. Lots of it. We had the sea bass, the roast lamb and the spinach and wild mushroom parcel. Good variety of drinks available. We sat in the garden for a Mother’s Day lunch. Tables are well spaced apart. Sunshades were up. Food and drink orders were taken at the table. Waiter was friendly. The table reservation system and the “no shows” appeared to be challenging today. A long wait for food to arrive at the table. Just from the sheer amount of orders being placed I would imagine, and the pub was very busy indeed. When the food arrived it was delicious. We all enjoyed our dinner. We were lucky enough to get parked in the pub car park so only a short walk to the pub. All in all a really lovely Mother’s Day lunch. Slightly hectic but that didn’t spoil our lunch one bit. Highly recommended

Booked for Mother’s Day - extremely understaffed. Left a young kid dealing with the main dining area who wasn’t up to the task - asked for something and he just forgot (not his fault given his age and he was trying to do three peoples jobs). Think we asked for more water for my son three times and gave up. Cheap labour! Regardless of the service, the food (which is normally excellent) was verging on awful (smallest amount of meat I’ve ever been given in the Sunday roast pub setting). If I didn’t want to ruin the meal / ambiance of the day, I would have sent mine back for the first time in my life. Really disappointing given it’s normally really good. Clearly can’t deal with the numbers booked on Mother’s Day. Extremely expensive for what was a poor experience

First off to give them credit, it was a super busy Sunday. They were very good in getting us a different table as the original was bang in the middle of the pub, which was busy and loud, and we had a big buggy. But....our server was a bit hopeless, he took ages to take our order, ages to take away plates, never once asked if we wanted more drinks so we just went to the bar ourselves. We tried flagging people down but they were all rushing about constantly. So I had to get our own menus for both mains and pudding for example, hardly a huge deal but if your paying £20 a main you do expect a bit more than that. Also sadly the lamb was really poor. Not very much meat, mainly fat and super chewy. The beef was delicious however. We told our serve about the poor quality of the lamb and offered us 10% of the bill that didn't materialize. by this point we couln't be bothered to argue for it so just left. We've been before and it was better, i think they were just too busy for the number of bookings they had that day.

We ate here last week and Harrison was very helpful advising us on the menu. We especially enjoyed the monkfish & prawn curry. Lovely red wine.

We came as a group of friends for my husbands birthday. Everyone's meal was fantastic. Only one slight problem was, the fries that came with my chicken Kiev were over done and inedible. If the Kiev had been served with the chunky chips the other dishes came with this would have been much better. Other than that everything was tip top

Hi there, Maggie Thank you for your feedback, we are sorry that your fries were a little cooked well... you can on your next visit ask to change to our other chips or even mashed potato. Please pass on our belated birthday wishes to your husband. Best wishes POW Team

Quiet Monday evening, a late decision given our usual local spots were closed, the dining area was very comfortable. The manager Henry and Jed were busy with enquiries but made the time to chat and welcome us, in fact more than that. We chose a series of starters as tapas followed by the sage ravioli. The presentation was a treat, the freshly prepared beetroot hummus with flatbread was delicious and plentiful. We were so surprised at the quality of the chicken skewers and mushroom dish, simply great. We cleared the ravioli too nice to miss. And finished with an ice cream, child’s pud portion. This is a pub with enthusiastic foodies in charge, we would recommend as a venue for a quiet mid week meal without reservation. Well done guys!

New years eve with friends, early table for dinner. Waiting staff did a great job, even though they were short handed. Food was generally good, although cauliflower soup starters were returned and replaced. Monkfish and prawn curry was delish!

Very poor service on Christmas day. Waited almost two hours for lunch despite having booked well in advance. Lots of people complaining about long wait with some going home without eating. Some customers being served after coming in much later. Food was good except brussel sprouts which were rock hard.
