Our food turned up before our drinks, in fact, our bottle of wine turned up as we were finishing our mains. Hugely apologetic, but too many people crammed in, and not enough glasses to serve wine, or people to stay on top of things. Food was ok.

I like the pint shop. It's got good beers, nice ambience, decent food. Once upon a time it had the best steaks in Cambridge. That's not true any more. Not even close. Cost seems to have propelled them down weird steak routes, and the old, delicious, rib eye is ancient history. They now offer a middling flat iron in a nice peppercorn sauce. It's ok but it's not a proper steak.

I was disappointed in the poor selection of vegetarian dishes. Our waiter kindly informed us that the pie we chose would take a long time to cook and we might miss the concert we were going to, which left just two vegetarian dishes. One was a vegan burger, being substiture meat, rather than something completely different to meat. I don't like meat, so don't want to eat pretend meat. That left the oyster mushroom kebab. The mushroom was tasy enough, but there was an awful lot of vinegary cabbage to get through. The dish overall was unbalanced and, frankly, over-priced. We asked for our coffee and desert to come together, as we were going to a show. I chose the flourless brownie, which was very tasty, but came garnished with burnt popcorn, which didn't match the flavour or texture of the dish. The coffees didn't arrive by the time we had finished, so I asked for them to be taken off the bill. The waiter was very reluctant to do this, telling me that I could take them to-go as they were nearly ready. Overall, a very disappointing experience.

We enjoyed our meals, however the descriptions could be better, this would have enabled us to add the necessary sides to supplement the main courses. The quality of food was good and the ambience of the dining room was very good. The atmosphere in the bar was very good and I would return.

I love the Pint Shop and it never disappoints - the beer and gin range are my favourites - it attracts a lovely diverse crowd and everyone seems comfortable here

This is a reliably great place to eat. We had food from the Sunday lunch menu which was excellent with great service too. Recommended!

At first glance the menu did not offer a lot of interesting choice (fish & chips anyone?), but the dish we both selected, Jalapeno Chicken Thigh Kebab, was really excellent - very tasty and beautifully balanced between the spicy chicken thighs, coleslaw, and pickled chillis. The service was OK, the ambience as always convivial without being too loud, and the drinks span an amazing range of well-kept ales.

Hello Nick, Thank you for your feedback, this means a lot to us! We actually do serve Fish and Chips every day, it is an option on our menu. However, I am glad you enjoyed the Jalapeno Chicken Thigh Kebab as well. I will definitely pass the review on to our team. We hope to have you back soon. Kind Regards, Sylvie
