Best Mediterranean Restaurants in Pacific Grove

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sea Root at the Hyatt Regency in Monterey on March 10th. with my family, and it was a delightful experience from start to finish. We were greeted warmly as soon as we arrived and quickly seated, which set a positive tone for the evening. Our waitress provided exceptional service, Cienna was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. The restaurant’s ambience was very inviting and comfortable, creating the perfect atmosphere for a relaxed dinner. As for the food, everything was delicious and beautifully presented. Each dish was full of flavor and expertly prepared, making it clear that Sea Root takes pride in its culinary offerings. Overall, I highly recommend Sea Root for anyone looking to enjoy a wonderful meal in Monterey. It’s definitely worth the visit, and I look forward to returning in the future! Next day visit at Sea root 3/11/2025 I had an unfortunate experience at Sea Root after what started off as an excellent dinner the day before. Sadly, the service was a complete letdown the next day. The restaurant was slow today 3/11/2025 that I didn’t even bother booking a table. Once seated, it took quite a while for anyone to ask if we wanted drinks. After we ordered our meals, we had to wait 15-20 minutes for our food to arrive. The waitress seemed distracted, spending more time chatting with her colleagues than attending to our table. When we finished our meals, we had to wait again for her to ask if we wanted take-out boxes. It was a completely different experience from the night before, and it honestly felt like we were in a different restaurant altogether. I wish Cienna, who had served us so well the day before, had been there to take care of us again. It was a disappointing experience, and I hope they can improve their service in the future and hire more staff just like Cienna.

This place was so good and enjoyable on so many levels, it is difficult to to be honest instead of selfishly keeping it as secret as a place that has been in operation since the late 1950s can be. An absolute treasure in every way.

We found this wonderful restaurant on Yelp and couldn’t be more pleased. We made a reservation and were immediately seated at a great table. Quick friendly and helpful service. My drinks were great. Our meals were delicious. We ordered salmon and calamari dishes and both were excellent. Owner stopped by table to chat and make sure we had everything we needed. We will be back on our next visit to Pacific Grove.

Great experience, service, and food. Feels like the treehouse you wish you had as a kid. Fun times!
