The destination for authentic Isaan cuisine from Northeastern Thailand has received numerous accolades, including a 3-star review from Pete Wells of The New York Times, and being listed two years in a row on the NYT’s 100 Best Restaurants in NYC as well as being nominated as a semifinalist in the outstanding Restaurateur category for the 2024 James Beard Foundation Awards. Zaab Zaab is also recognized as a Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant.

We now have five locations across Queens, Brooklyn, and Manhattan and are so proud to represent Thai food and culture in New York City.”

“KRAAM”(คราม) is a Thai word for indigo or organic dye. It’s also a word synonymous for craft and wisdom passed down through generations. The menu incorporates dishes from various regions of Thailand with seasonal and higher quality ingredients. " A sleek white, gold and blue room (kraam means indigo) is the setting for a vibrant, distinctive Thai menu. Instead of the fierce attention to regional cuisines as at beloved Thai spots in Queens, the chef and owner, Pongsathorn Thinnuch, who worked at JoJo and Hutong, and his team of Thai chefs, favor seasonality and contemporary flair. Khao soi curry is made with chicken confit, there are sauteed razor clams with Thai-adjacent chimichurri, and strips of rib-eye heavily strewn with black peppercorns make a stir-fry. The inevitable green papaya salad includes sweet corn and long beans, and you can bet that Giovanni Bellini never tasted his namesake drink with lychee and guava." - The New York Times.

Wonderful lunch experience! The staff was warm and attentive, making the meal even more enjoyable. The food was outstanding—creative, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The décor was playful and thoughtfully designed, adding to the inviting atmosphere. When I asked for recommendations, the team had great suggestions ready. Service was quick, and the food arrived hot—just the right temperature to enjoy without worrying about burning your tongue! The Short Rib Massaman (P) (GF) was fall-off-the-bone tender, rich, and deeply satisfying. The Salmon Clay Pot (GF) was perfectly cooked, paired with salmon roe and rice—an absolute delight. Definitely a must-try lunch spot, with plenty of ways to mix and match flavors and proteins. Next time, I’d love to order it spicier. Portions were also perfect for lunch! Best, SpeakingInRoughDraft
