Best Contemporary French American Restaurants in Redwood City

Excellent food, great service and wonderful ambience. Chef Scott has created a restaurant that is top of its class.

After years of absence, I was pleased to see a roast chicken on the menu and indeed enjoyed the choice. So now the Black Sheep can actually count as a "French" restaurant; chicken being given the same dedicated care in France as the Japanese pay to the feeding, harvesting, transport and preparing of fish. My companion enjoyed her hearty beef rib on risotto. I was disappointed to see my "go to" menu item at the previous days at Black Sheep, moules frits. (mussels & fried potato sticks) to be dropped from the choices in the new menu...perhaps it will be slipped back in soon.

Antonio the som was wonderful & so helpful. Our server was both sweet & knowledgeable with the menu, & helped to accommodate our dietary restrictions. The kitchen was so kind to split our shared entrees into 3, all plated beautifully. Highly recommend this restaurant

The seven course meal was quite filling. The duck was superb. We added the white truffle dish which was also excellent, but probably a bit more food than we needed.
