My wife pulled out her cell to see better and the waiter dropped a little night light on our table. I got the sugar cured strip loin and my dining partner ordered the filet mignon. Both cooked precisely as we preferred (medium well). The preliminaries (bread with olive oil, a salad for my dining partner) were tasty without being too filling. The core meal was delicious. The server (Laura) was attentive and friendly. She muffed my beer order but I am not very picky -- she ended up crediting us anyway. We started with the fried calamari appetizer, which was very large and not the least bit greasy. Our steaks, filet mignon and NY strip, were cooked perfectly as ordered and their sides are large enough for two people. We engaged Matt for a few minutes which he seemed happy to do. We had a relaxing drink at the bar before going to our table. Our server Sydney was excellent. She did all she could to please us. The bread basket was delivered and had a great choices but for us the best was the flat bread. Slightly charred and crispy. We ordered the burrata app. It is an outstanding array of Italian cold cuts, toasted sliced baguettes, jam and arugula. My guest then had the special which was cod topped with lobster along with boiled potatoes and asparagus. She loved it. I had the pork chop which came just as I ordered it, medium rare. Really top notch. I substituted fries for mashed potatoes but got both anyway. The fries are thicker than I prefer but still pretty good.
