Best Fun Restaurants in Sompting

Spur of the moment decision to pop in for lunch at Bolney’s restaurant upstairs. Staff are very friendly and quickly got us set up with glasses of the house BdB. Soup of the day came with proper bread and local butter; the crab salad with pickled radishes was fresh and tasty. Main courses sound less interesting than the starters, but the burger and the cod and chips were well executed. We each finished with an affogato that provided a good strong jolt to get us back on our feet. It’s not particularly cheap but we both staggered out stuffed and happy

Table for ten isn’t easy to serve, but Green Mango gave us excellent service all the way through our visit. The food tasted amazing, and very pleasing to the eye. Music was playing gently in the background and the restaurant was very comfortable temperature wise, as it was a chilly evening. Must give praise to the presence of the staff, all were very attentive without being overly in your face and asking you every 5 minutes, if everything was alright, that’s my pet hate. They done an amazing job. This was our first visit to Green Mango, it won’t be our last.

Having enjoyed such an excellent roast a few weeks ago I booked to go again. This time with two friends who live locally but had not been to the pub before. I was again not dissappointed. The best roast in Sussex in my opinion. Excellent value for money. The ambiance lovely in this old pub. The food was amazing. An abundance of freshly cooked vegetables. Lovely crispy roast potatoes with a fluffy interior. Large portion of meat. The service is excellent. Attentive polite staff. Easy to park in large car park and lovely gardens in which we had a pre lunch drink. I can’t wait to return.

Great food and service....... and for sure value for money. The presentation of each course (we had the tasting menu) was excellent. If travelling by car - parking is on street and suggest patience when looking for a parking space in the village.

From the moment we walked in the atmosphere was lovely and warm. Two fires going. We sat at our table and the service was very good. They have fab mats for dogs to lay on which is a wonderful touch for my dogs. The waitress gave us a bowl of water too. The food was good and very hot. Would definitely come back.
