The Fox & Pheasant is a little “country” pub tucked away in a small corner of Chelsea. The pub was founded in 1846 and it began its life as the Bedford Arms. Ten years later it changed to the Prince of Wales and in 1965 became The Fox & Pheasant and we have no intention of changing its name again!Not only are we a snug pub in the winter with 3 fire places, a dartboard and dog biscuits for the well behaved companions (dogs)! We are lucky enough to be able to wind back our roof in the conservatory for those long summer lunches to. I’ve eaten here on a few occasions now and each time it has been a delightful experience, not to mention the food they serve is picture perfect and delicious! This time I brought a few of my friends as part of a jolly, the ambiance was perfect, the Christmas decor was out in full glory and the once again the food was exceptional, in particular the braised Herefordshire beef orgasmic! Clos Maggiore was brimming with customers, so much so we had to wait a little for our table. However by way of compensation we were treated to a really delicious glass of Prosecco which successfully sweetened the deal. My only niggle was that the sommelier was a little busy which meant the experience of timing the wine to the plate wasn’t spot on but in fairness the restaurant was packed! So overall we all had a really lovely time!

It's such a shame they're closing for a refurb. Hopefully they'll reopen soon! It's a neighbourhood gem - delicious food, warm and welcoming atmosphere and friendly service!
