They have an array of cocktails with a variety of liquors- so there is definitely something for everyone (even a selection of cocktails!). The food was French with exquisite presentation. We ate the steak tartare, onion tart, pork croquette and baguette with chicken skin butter! WOW! Everything had intense flavors that complemented each other! For entrees, my husband and I shared the Australian Wagyu steak (large, like 16oz I think), steak & frites and the lamb. The night took a spectacular turn with the chef herself came out with a couple entrees! It was such a pleasure to meet such a badass chef! Overall, we were thrilled with our first experience and can’t wait to go back! The atmosphere was sexy/swanky, and despite loud noise levels, a good time was definitely had by all!More infoLe CoqPrice: Very Expensive• Contemporary French• La Jolla•4.4
- AAngelaSan Diego •7 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoStarting off, George was amazing, and provided fantastic service. Ambience was cozy, sleek, and spacious, not over crowed tables, feels intimate. Food is incredible. We had the tuna tartar, so fresh and clean with buttery avocado, positano pizza was thin, crisp, and the perfect subtle ratio of sweet and salty. Cacio e pepe was al dente and creamy. Beet salad was fresh and bright, with juicy beets, Crunchy smoked almonds and slightly peppery arugala, the calamari was tender and a perfect amount of breading, not to heavy, very light. Short rib empanadas were perfect little meaty bites with a flaky crust and herbacious chimmichuri. All in all, would definitely come back to try one of the fire grilled meats and the charcuterie board...would also like to try the lobster tail. Oh, and the tiramisu was out of this world!!!More infoThe Amalfi Llama - San DiegoPrice: Moderate• Steakhouse• University City/Golden Triangle•4.4
- JJulieSan Diego •3 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoThe service was excellent. We found all of the servers to be very attentive and helpful. The food was also delicious, starting with the focaccia bread with seasoned butter. The scallops were also excellent. I hadn’t been to this restaurant in a long time and I highly recommend it.More infoThe Marine RoomPrice: Very Expensive• Seafood• La Jolla•4.7
