Chef Frank Bonanno dug into his Sicilian heritage and east coast roots to create this authentic, rustic Italian eatery. Luca has amazing personal touches from the daily made breads and pastas to the meats and cheeses cured in house, to the charcoal drawing of Bonanno’s son (and the restaurant’s namesake) that hangs in the dining room. Luca is heartwarming and satisfying from the wood-fired pizzas to the hand-rolled pastas to the perfectly seared proteins. Another awesome night at the Barolo Grill! My wife and split 3 dishes (Antipasti, Primi and Secondi) and all were great. They are very accommodating to Gluten free, and the Gluten Free pasta was nice! Barolo Grill is a great spot for a special occasion or a treat!

I always wondered about how restaurants figure out pricing for dinner items with white truffles.... We ordered a risotto with white truffles and the waitor came and grated the truffles. We thanked him. A few minutes later, he returned to add a bit more grated truffles....He obviously weighed it before, returned to the kitchen and weighed it again, and when he shorted us a tiny bit, he actually returned to give us our full amount of this treat...All done quietly but I now know how it should be done. Unsosphisitcated guy that I am, I once ordered white truffles at another Michelin star restaurant and the waitor kept asking me if I wanted more. I kept saying sure. When the bill came, I got an additional $105 for the "extra truffles". I prefer the Tavernetta method.

This place is outstanding. Crowded but not overwhelming. Menu is limited, in a good way. The restaurant presents a number of simple and complex options, and everything tastes as fresh as can possibly be. We started with dressed oysters, then a kale salad - both dishes perfectly prepared. Then lobster pasta, and salmon, again extremely fresh. The complimentary table rolls are also nostalgically warm, buttery and seasoned with salt and garlic. I'd only been here for lunch, but definitely coming back for dinner soon!
