Our “finest hour” was most definitely during the Battle of Britain in World War II, when we were commandeered by the RAF to serve as an auxiliary mess for Fighter Command at RAF Kenley. Today we serve a refreshing range of lager, ale & wines and a menu that reflects the great British pub, using fresh ingredients all cooked to order.     The Valentine's Day set menu was absolutely delicious and incredibly good value with generous portions. My girlfriend and I both had the mushroom risotto to start which was wonderfully creamy but not too rich or stodgy. Just perfect. We shared the lamb chops for a main. They were very generous with five big cuts between us, each cooked to just the right level of pinkness. It was on a bed of what I think was Ratatouille which was very tasty (there was so much we couldn't finish it) and very crispy roast potatoes on the side. The puddings, a chocolate torte and a strawberry raspberry coulis with meringue were fantastic and complimented each other well to share. The chocolate was incredibly rich but not overpowering and the fruity pudding was a tasty pallette cleanser. The service was great. The woman serving us was very nice and attentive especially considering how busy the place was.

    The food was impeccable and delicious with stunning flavours. I loved the décor and the space was beautifully designed. We also got a given cute mini dessert as it was my partner's birthday. I would recommend this place to anyone, especially if it's a special occasion.
