Best French Restaurants in Cheverly

The moment we walked into La Grande Boucherie DC we felt welcomed. The hostess at the entrance shared a little about the beautiful venue before seating us. PRETTY COOL BAR! Our waiter, Steven welcomed us again before introducing himself. His attention made our visit special, as well as the overall staff. We ordered the lobster bisque and the pear salad, the salmon and the steak frites and shared a cheesecake for dessert. We certainly enjoyed our food and dining experience. La Grande Boucherie in NY had already made a good impression on us when we organized a large gathering with family and friends. We love Belga-- it's one of our favorite neighborhood spots, and where we've gone for important dinners in our life! Chef Bart and the team are so welcoming and the food is always good, as is the service. Belga has become our comfort spot, and we love both their regular menu and their special menus (we've celebrated our last three Valentine's Days with them and loved each one). Whether you're looking for a low key date night or a special occasion, definitely recommend checking out this great spot.

service was exceptional! attentive but not hovering. The French onion soup was the best I've had outside of France--not too much bread, delicious onion broth/onions and lots of perfectly browned cheese. Creme Brûlée and chocolate soufflé were also excellent, as were the quiche and salmon. Very good wine and cocktail menu, and the food menu, while not exhaustive, had variety and everyone in our party had trouble deciding between several dishes they were sure they would like. We went for late lunch and easily found street parking, but suspect that was luck, but Hotel Sonesta has a garage--did not ask if they validated parking. While not cheap, very reasonable for quality and quantity of food--portions were reasonable, but not the huge portions sometimes offered to make up for inferior quality at some restaurants. We were first-time diners but will definitely be back!

Our first experience dining at Chez Billy was delightful. It is an intimate restaurant with beautiful decor and attentive staff. The Caesar Salad and Onion Soup started our meal and were delicious ( the Caesar the best I’ve ever had). The Tuna and Duck entrees were perfectly prepared. We ended our dinner with the cheesecake and rice pudding … delish! Billy Sud is a little Georgetown gem.
