- HHowardWest Wales •5 reviews5.0Dined 3 days agoI only discovered this restaurant the night before we visited on Friday 22 November. The weather was very cold but the online images and reviews were very warm! Our overall experience was well worth the 35 mile round trip! From start to finish everything was exceptional! Even the background music was to our taste and at a perfect level. We will definitely be returning and thoroughly recommend this local gem.More infoThe White HorsePrice: Moderate• Gastro Pub• Harpenden•4.6
- JJoannaHertfordshire •1 review5.0Dined 3 days agoThere is a lovely cosy atmosphere in this quaint historic place. Staff are very welcoming and accomodating - we had our two young daughters with us. The food was excellent -great quality, taste and portion size. I had kipper croquettes and the chalk stream trout, both delicious. Deserts are always great, plum crumble and Bramley apple cheesecake are highly recommended.More infoLussmanns - HarpendenPrice: Moderate• Modern European• Harpenden•4.7
- KKathleenSan Francisco Bay Area •12 reviews5.0Dined 7 days agoOutstanding food, service, ambiance. Classic British food, nose to tail, simply but exquisitely prepared. We started with olives and roasted bone marrow, a favourite we order whenever possible, and this was the best we’ve ever had. Accompanying parsley salad was flavourful crunchy and fresh, perfect accompaniment along sourdough toast. For mains we shared grey mullet, grilled shorthorn, white asparagus, green salad and a sublime braised mutton. Everything was superb and we were quite full but couldn’t resist dessert. Both the lemon posset and date loaf with butterscotch sauce were incredible and we ate every last bit. Service was low key excellent and very helpful as we ordered wine by the glass having over imbibed over the weekend and server recommendations were perfect.More infoSt. JOHN SmithfieldPrice: Very Expensive• British• Farringdon•4.8
