Lovely decor and ambience. Starter and pudding excellent but very disappointed by the main. As valentines we ordered the chateaubriand as a treat £90 medium rare. It came well done so we sent it back . This was replaced quickly but in our opinion still over cooked-medium and very disappointing . We were given a free drink whilst the dish was replaced but when asked how the food was at the end of the meal the feedback wasn’t acknowledged or any apology given. We would return but would stick to a more basic affordable dish. The singer was fantastic and the welcoming glass of presseco a lovely surprise.

The staff were all very cheerful and helpful; the service was swift but not rushed; and the food was delicious. Well done everyone.

I’ve been here multiple times, and I’m never disappointed! The staff is always welcoming and attentive, making the experience even better. The food? Fresh, savory, and absolutely delicious. Can’t wait to come back!

We went for Sunday lunch and had a lovely time. Cocktails are amazing, food was delicious, decor was great. The only downside was that the service was very slow and waiting staff not very attentive as in we sat with empty glasses for a long time and no-one came over to the table really except to take our order or serve the food. Also not enough gravy on the roast but that is a personal preference. Overall though loved The Hengist and would definitely go back!
