The White Oak Tavern is a family-owned business, operated by a brother & sister that are Ellicott City locals. The menu includes seasonal scratch made items, sustainable meats & produce from local farms and purveyors. The White Oak Burger is a community favorite and has been recognized as the best burger in Howard County for several years. The outdoor patio is dog friendly with a special dog menu.     Enjoyable evening. Friendly staff and good food. Service was very slow, despite their best efforts. Seemed like the staff was a bit overwhelmed. Chicken waffles good but it took ten minutes after it was delivered to get the syrup. Chef didn’t put enough batter in the iron and part of the waffle was thin and over browned. My wife ordered salad with red wine vinaigrette. Came with a tiny cup with maybe a tablespoon of dressing for a large salad. Staff always did their best to correct problems when we could flag them down. Drinks were wonderful. My wife ordered their lemon-lime soda and I had maple old fashioned. I would return but maybe not on a weekend. It is loud. Tough to hold a conversation when the place is packed.

    The food was amazing, came out quickly, and the portions were pretty big! We had the salmon and crab cake - both fantastic. The cheeseburger on the kid's menu can definitely pass for an adult burger, lol! Our servers were amazing and gave us complimentary macaroons and a complimentary gift card for my birthday. We'll definitely be back.
