Best Japanese Restaurants in Ladera Ranch

We love this place! It is always consistent, the food is amazing, and the drinks are top-notch! Ambiance is nice too. Our server, Leslie, was very personable and fun. We only wish there was a location closer to us in San Clemente, but it won't stop us from coming back.

We were warmly greeted by the hostess and were sat at our table within 10 minutes or less. Our server Amanda came by the table shortly and was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and item specific. Throughout dinner she was attentive and prompt. The Macadamia Nut Halibut is fantastic and a must try. Their selection of oysters is also good and all were very tasty. We will definitely be coming back.

242 Fusion sushi was our go to favorite restaurant for years and we loved everything about it. This was our first time back after Miki passed away and reopened under new management. I’m happy to say that we loved the experience and the food was just as we remember it (more expensive though like all restaurants nowadays). We tried many of our old favorites and also some new dishes that we loved. I like how we can make reservations on OpenTable now, because there used to be no reservations and there was often a long wait. The restaurant is very small and it felt more crowded than before, but I think that is part of the charm of the experience. Not somewhere you go to have a quiet, intimate dinner, but somewhere you go to a have great food, very friendly staff and patrons, and great energy. As you enter the restaurant and when you leave, everyone in the kitchen and all the servers look up and wave goodbye and say thank you for coming. We will definitely keep coming back as often as we can.

Amazing! At first, it’s a little off putting that you are not allowed in the restaurant until your seating time. However, once you get in, you appreciate why you were made to wait, and the experience is worth the wait. The attention to detail and freshness of each bite is exceptional. A very intimate setting. We cannot wait to go back.

As always, dinner was unbelievable. Every member of my family chooses Sushi Roku for their special occasion and every single time, it is unbelievable. It is the most consistent experience we have at any restaurant. The food and service is incredible. We truly order the exact same thing every time which you would think would get old but it doesn't. We start with Miso soup and edamame. Then we have the Brussels Sprout chips and Shishito Peppers. We close out with a lot of orders of yellowtail which truly could count as dessert, albacore, spicy tuna Hanabi and a Tuna Jalapeno roll.
