Best Historic Restaurants in Shelter Island / San Diego Bay

From the esthetics to the food and drinks, Tako was the best experience in SD! We try a new place every week and this place is hands down the best and already making reservations to go again!

We had an excellent experience at The Prado! The food presentation, flavors, and timing were all perfect. Our server was pleasant, professional, and friendly in a respectful way. The atmosphere is warm, and enchanting. We are very much looking forward to ding there again. We were in the dining room on this occasion, but I have previously experienced their outdoor patio, and their bar area as well. Each and every time have all been very enjoyable experiences! Amazingly authentic Italian food! Loved the food and ambience!!!

What can I say? This is easily one of the best happy hour spots in San Diego! The ambiance is stunning, the service is outstanding, and the food is absolutely incredible. We had yet another fantastic experience here, this time for an early dinner to celebrate my kid’s birthday. The oysters were incredibly fresh, the Japanese sweet potatoes are a must-try, the fish and chips were amazing—so fresh and moist—and the clam chowder was perfection. The smoked trout dip wasn’t my favorite this time, but it was still a solid appetizer. Our server, Mike, was exceptional—attentive, polite, and spot-on with his food recommendations. We’ll definitely be back, and if you’ve never been to this place, make a reservation now. You can thank me later!

The food selection at Mimmo’s Italian Village was outstanding! We ordered a Pastrami sandwich and the Fettuccine with clams and don’t forget the cheese bread! All was wonderful and made our last meal in San Diego before our flight a very memorable one.
