Best Authentic Restaurants in New Castle

Our Valentine’s Day dinner was perfect, as it always is when we have special occasions celebrated at Ole Tapas restaurant. The selected menu had a variety of delicious entrees, appetizers and to end the best Tres Leches cake ever. Their wine selections have so many to choose from. Our waiter’s recommendation was a perfect compliment to our meal. However, I saw several couples enjoying pitchers of sangria and it looked delicious. I’d like to try some next time. The atmosphere is lovely, romantic and good choice of background music. We have gone there when they had live music and it was great.

It was the night before Valentines Day it was super crowded but they handled everything so well! Everyone stepped in to help including hostesses, waitstaff, bartenders and Managers to clean tables and move. Hairs around bring food out whatever it took. We took a seat in the bar area and gave up our reservation for people waiting. It was fun!

Lovely dining experience. We were seated promptly and served water immediately. Our server was pleasant and knowledgeable, and her recommendation of the Pinot Grigio was spot-on (less sweet and more minerally than a typical PG). The complimentary bruschetta was tasty. My wife ordered the cioppino. The seafood was exquisitely prepared with a marinara that had a softness and butteriness to it. I enjoyed a cheese ravioli (all pasta made in house and it tasted like it) with sage and butter sauce. The coconut/pineapple sorbet was really delicious. The restaurant itself is not exactly cozy - it has an old-school openness, and a sort of cool modernity - but the food, and service, were excellent. Highly recommended.

My husband and I are Maryland “crab snobs”! DiPaolo’s is the only restaurant in NJ where we will eat the crab cakes — all crabmeat- amazing and delicious!! Can’t go wrong with their steaks either. Actually we have been eating there for years and every meal had been delicious. Shared a fabulous tomahawk steak with my grandson there during Thanksgiving weekend.

I would give 5 stars but music too loud and my margarita seemed on weak side. Tacos were large and delicious. Our friends like their enchiladas and burrito. Service was great and we weren’t rushed. Wish there was one in south jersey
