Best Authentic Restaurants in Los Altos

This was our second visit to the restaurant. It is great to finally have a restaurant in the bay area, where the chef understands the authenticity of the Indian food yet put modern touch on the flavors and preparation. Every dish we tried from the dahi kebab to paneer Tikka, Fig and walnut kofta was amazing. Also, this restaurant's service is really good as they don't try to rush you out, but understand the vibe of what's happening on the table and allow conversations among guests to occur and have them savor the food. Kudos to the chef and the service staff we will surely return again.

Food was so delicious and lots of variety. Something for everyone. Service was attentive and timely. Wonderful birthday celebration!

We loved our entrees! Delicious! The ceviche appetizer was also great. Music was a little loud when we first sat down but thankfully the server accommodated when we asked that the volume be adjusted a little. Will definitely go back. I may be craving the seafood "stew" entree soon! Prices may have been a little high, but probably comparable to other local restaurants.

I have to go back many more time to try everything on the menu. The food was outstanding. The service was really good, our waitress was very nice, respectful of our space and always on top making sure the table was clean and we had everything needed. Amazing experience all around.

We initially booked a table for two, but two of our colleagues joined us later, making it a party of four. I must say, this place is phenomenal! We got there by 4:30, and the place was already quite crowded. This was my first time visiting, and I actually found out about Jaks through Forbes magazine. The ambiance was fantastic—not like your typical Indian restaurant. It was clean, simple, and very well done. Honestly, you wouldn’t even guess it was an Indian restaurant at first glance because the decor was so modern and upscale. They have a full bar, and we enjoyed a couple of cocktails, which were amazing! We also tried four sharable plates, and every single one was interesting and unique. The chef’s signature dishes, especially the sea bass, lamb shank, and lamb chops, were absolutely stunning. The flavors were so authentic, and everything was cooked to perfection. The staff was very attentive, which made the whole experience even better. I heard from one of my colleagues that the menu changes every six months, which is pretty exciting. I’m already looking forward to trying their lunch menu next time. Overall, it’s a great place for dining—whether for a casual meal or something special. This was a wonderful experience, and I’ll definitely be back soon!
