- KKristinaSan Diego •1 review4.0Dined 2 days agoFirst time at Kalaveras in Chula Vista & experienced their brunch menu with some micheladas, bottomless mimosas, &shots for dessert. I decided to get the ceviche appetizer w a side of there spice sauce (4/5 stars), my friends ordered adobada steak and eggs 4/5 stars, pasta al Diablo (4/5 stars), and barbacoa omelette (3/4 stars; not because it was bad but it was basic compared to the other dishes- taste was 4/5stars). Server and service was 4/5 stars not because they were lacking but because they didn’t go above and beyond. They did give great service overall, especially refilling our mimosas before they reached the bottom of the glass. They were very aware and very attentive with us and his other tables. Overall experience: Fell in love with the Redando beach location so had to try this one with my San Diego friends.I would give a “10/10 would recommend” and would come back again. Rating scale: My ratings to give a 5/5 would have to be Michelin Star restaurants so this 4/5 is still exceptionally high rating for this establishment in my books. Hope this helps &Enjoy!More infoKalaveras - Chula VistaPrice: Moderate• Mexican• Chula Vista / Bonita•4.4

- MMadisonSan Diego •2 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoMy fiancé and I loved Stake Chophouse. We went for an early Valentine's Day dinner and I think it's a good bang for your buck! Fiancé is vegetarian and our server did his best to recommend and accommodate that. I got a pom mocktail which was fun. We started off with the asparagus and brussel sprouts, my fiancé's favorite part of the meal. He got the vegetarian plate for his main entrée which was good but nothing super special. I got the 8oz filet mignon (served rare+) with a side of scallops. Filet mignon was perfect - every single bite. Scallops were unique and good. Since we were so full we did not get dessert, but they gave us two petit-four-esque espresso chocolate treats that were absolutely ridiculously superb! Server was excellent, mood was great. Only thing was we were set in a quiet part of the restaurant, but we could hear another section/area next to ours that was very loud. It was weird hearing loud noises from just one side, but was not too bad. Very excited to come here again!More infoStake Chophouse & BarPrice: Very Expensive• Steakhouse• Coronado•4.6
