The Peter Shields Inn & Restaurant features a seasonally driven menu bursting with creativity. A favorite of Cape May locals and visitors alike, PSI offers a la carte dining along with a variety of seasonal tasting menus throughout the year. The magnificent ocean views offer the perfect setting to celebrate a special occasion or simply enjoy a memorable dining experience in beautiful Cape May. During the summer months outdoor dining is available on the front porch overlooking the ocean, and several fireplaces keep the restaurant feeling cozy throughout the winter. Live piano music can be enjoyed at the restaurant all year long. PSI also specializes in hosting elegant ocean front weddings throughout the year, making this the perfect location for special celebrations. The dress code at PSI is Smart Casual. PSI is no longer a BYOB as of 1/1/25, we offer a full spirits, wine and beer list. There is a $40 corkage fee for guests that would like to bring in a personal bottle.

                                              We had an amazing experience at Peter Shields Inn. The new cocktail menu is fantastic—both the 100 Years Old Fashioned and Basil Instinct are absolute must-tries. The wine list is a perfect balance of unique finds and well-known brands, catering to every taste. The entire team is exceptionally professional. General Manager Sean checked on us multiple times and, with his extensive wine knowledge, helped us select the perfect bottle. Our server, Peter, was outstanding—attentive and on point throughout the night. As for the food? Simply outstanding. Their executive chef is truly elevating the Cape May dining scene. If you’re looking for an unforgettable culinary experience, we highly recommend Peter Shields Inn

                                              My wife and I had an enjoyable dinner and time at PSI. The restaurant is located on the ocean road and we had a scenic view of the beach. Our server, Dylan, was friendly and attentive. I had the Canadian oysters for appetizer and blue fin tuna for dinner. My wife had a chicken dish for dinner. Our dinners were delicious, and the presentation was well done. The chef at PSI makes even an ordinary sounding dish into an extraordinary dish with how he prepared the dish and the accompanying vegetables. PSI now has a liquor license so that was new. The cost of the dineer was a bit on the high side but well worth it.

                                              This is our “special go-to place” for all special occasions for the past 15-20 years. And we always request Chris as our waiter. He’s the consummate professional and has become a favorite we look forward to seeing.

                                              Great atmosphere. Food was great service was phenomenal. Only drawback was very hard to get a Uber at 10:00 PM on a Friday night!! One of the staff asked us where we were heading which was right up the road and offered to give us a lift!!
