A culinary island in Southern Utah, the Painted Pony brings a touch of class--and intriguing flavors--to St. George. The restaurant, tucked away in Ancestor Square, is exceptionally clean and cozy, with contemporary art, fresh flowers, and -- in the evening -- a top notch romantic atmosphere with subdued lighting and patio dining.

If your surroundings don't clue you in, your first glance at the menu will. Painted Pony is not your standard fare. Contemporary American cuisine evidently doesn't mean just another good steakhouse, and the simply written food descriptions promise something new and intriguing for your palate.

The Painted Pony has perfected the fine art of using fresh ingredients and delicate flavoring. An exceptional wine list, generous portions, attentive service, and reasonable prices will convince you to return to "the Pony" anytime you're in St. George.

Carina was AMAZING as always, but in 7 yrs visiting the Painted Pony, we've never had a problem with the food. Last night 2 of us had tenderloin steaks that were dry and not well seasoned. The Sea Bass had little ravioli's that were so "al dente" that they were still crunchy. Not typical of Painted Pony. My drumstick lollipops were good, but also a little dry. Gorgeous combo of cous cous with pomegranate! We want to return because the ambience is so conducive to conversation and the food has always been lovely. Thanks for being our favorite restaurant in St. George over the years! Jonell Francis

Food was great, but service was a little lacking. It could have been because of the business of the holiday season. Ambiance is always great!

Food was very good. Service was also very good. Expensive. Atmosphere of the restaurant is nice. Clientele feels like an expense account restaurant. Lots of hoodies and baseball caps. If you want a special night out I would choose another spot..I won't be back.

The place is delightful, the service was exquisite, but both of our steaks were extremely tough and almost inedible. Sorry, I'm not sure we'll be back.

Great food and service by Sandy. The crab cake appetizer is fantastic. We always have it. Wonderful ahi tuna salad and meatloaf entrees and key lime pie for dessert. No better lunch in Southern Utah!

I have been going to this restaurant for many years whenever I travel up to UT. It never disappoints. Thank you to Hannah, who provided excellent service. The food as always did not disappoint.

Our favorite place to eat in St. George. We sat outside in November with heaters and blankets. The ambience was romantic! The food was absolutely amazing and the service is the best. A bit more expensive than some restaurants, but worth it!
