After a two-year closure, Original Joe's, San Francisco’s quintessential Italian-American dining destination, revitalized iconic Daly City institution Joe’s of Westlake, and reintroduced it into the community as Original Joe’s Westlake. An anchor of Daly City from 1956 to 2014, Original Joe’s Westlake underwent an extensive two-year renovation, complete with a front-to-back interior remodel, including the kitchen and all dining spaces, and an exterior and landscaping overhaul. Following the Original Joe’s tradition, Westlake continues to prepare unpretentious, old-school Italian-American fare in an open kitchen for all to see. The menu is carefully crafted to reflect a past-meets-present hybrid of what Joe’s of Westlake used to be and what Original Joe’s Westlake is today.

    Evoking the spirit of the original Joe’s of Westlake, the newly renovated restaurant transports guests to Westlake circa 1960. Boasting Sputnik lighting, terrazzo flooring and redwood accents throughout, Original Joe’s Westlake elicits mid-century America in the likes of Palm Springs, Beverly Hills and Las Vegas. The newly reimagined Cascade Room features show-stopping pimento orange banquettes, and offers a variety of options for large gatherings—from private rehearsal dinners and memorial receptions, to smaller non-private family dinners, class reunions and birthday celebrations. With beautiful custom sliding doors, the Cascade Room can be divided in half, creating two fully private event spaces, accommodating up to 50 guests each.

    This was the first time out of many experiences here the service was absolutely poor. Loved that we were able to sit before our reservation time at 8pm. Drinks and appetizers came out fast but when it came to our dinner it took over an hour and a half to get our food. It was a shame because the server said it was because they had a large check with a bunch of steaks on it. However, I was a waitress before and the cooks usually cook the food in the order the tickets come in. So we were extremely frustrated and disappointed in this times visit.

    We are never disappointed when we come to Joe’s, the food is the main attraction, delicious every time . The cocktails also delicious good balance of liquor , perfect. Even though it was busy our waiter was friendly and would make sure we lack nothing

    I usually love this place but the last two times here my meal was over heat lamped. Everything was lukewarm and the French fry’s were hard and cold. On Easter the same issue. We made reservations to take advantage of the brunch special. Yet when we arrived they stated they were not serving it anymore even though we were in the timeframe. The same heat lamp experience. French Fry’s were hard and cold and even when I asked for new ones the new ones were cold. Get your act together Joe’s
