5 star experience. Server was great, sorry didn't get her name...personable, attentive, very sweet. Leslie, hostess, fun and engaging. Atmosphere whimsical and themed (St. Patty's Day) Scottish & Paris Teas, delicious..smooth. Food...excellent! Delicious tea sandwiches. Yummy sweet treats. (those Guinness chocolate cupcakes (o.m.g!) Love the cheddar/chive scones. Everything exceeded our expectations. We had the most delightful experience. The Inn is lovely old New England. First time there and for tea...I will be back for other fun themes.

Imagine being seated in a dinning room with only 8 tables, mid 19th century country inn, three piece acoustic jazz playing in the background. It’s a Sunday late morning Jazzy Brunch. Excellent, professional service. Eclectic brunch menu, creative Prosecco based fluted cocktail. Whether you were an Inn guest or just stopping by for Jazzy Brunch (as we did) the ambience sets the tone for the entire day. A Sunday Jazzy Brunch at Old Lyme Inn is magical.

Food and overall service were fantastic! Dropped a star for the delays attributed to the Saturday night show of which those diners are given priority which is understandable given the show times. Will avoid Saturday night reservation in the future. Highly recommend the Halibut dish and mushroom appetizer! Cheers!

They were understaffed . We were on time for our reservation. The host told us there were 4 other parties ahead of us . Had to wait 20 minutes for our table . Did not have a bartender available as there was another event going on . Waited another 1/2 hour to get our appetizer. Everything else was late for a price fixed menu . Many other people were noticeably upset . Not a good evening for a valentines special dinner .

Entered restaurant to manager/hostess asking how are you without making eye contact while looking at computer said good how are you back and her response was ugh I ve been better. 35 minute wait on a reservation with no offer of anything while waiting-beverage/bread. Good food but served Luke warm. Risotto was undercooked not Al dente but hard and crunchy in center. Server was emotionally flat not hiding her contempt and tiredness at all. Valentines meal with a jazz show in next room and attendees of that show having to pass through dining by table to access bathrooms. No parking in lot forced luckily driving suv forced to drive through snow bank and park in ice almost fell. Will not return and definitely not recommend for a special occasion. So many better options
