Contemporary interior design, open concept with 2 bar areas one at bar and the other facing a limited partial view of bar. Huge street side windows, high ceilings, sleek and minimalist decor. Had a fantastic young lady a waitress. Service was perfect. Food was delicious (kale salad with apple & almonds/pasta dish with rock shrimp - SO DELICIOUS!, scallop and clam entree in a chowder-type sauce. Dark chocolate cake with orange creamsicle ice cream as a treat. Great, lively atmosphere. We were visiting from FL but clearly this place is a local fav as it was very busy. Highly recommend.

Food was good. Waitress was not into it tonight. The chicken was roasted to perfection.

This place is outstanding! Sometimes I go negative in my mind when I have an experience that doesn't warrant me paying for, but places like Oak at Fourteenth restore my hope in restaurants that actually do go out of their way to take care of the customer and offer a great meal with great service! Well done and highly recommend!

All four of our mains were excellent. We all cleaned our plates. Two had Noona's /Sunday Ragu (gnocchi and meat sauce), one had lamb, and I had scallops in a shallow sea of clam chowder with a number of clams still in their shells. Beautiful and tasty. We split an order of arancini for an appetizer. A normal order has three arancini but they added a 4th for us. The desserts were fine but didn't wow us. Service was excellent. The website says they hope to turn over 4-tops in two hours and we were indeed in-and-out in just under two hours. Service was quick but we never felt rushed. Slightly too loud for my aging ears, but we were able to have a good conversation over a great birthday dinner.

We visited Oak for the first time as an impromptu date night and the entire experience was fabulous. Service, atmosphere, wine and both of our meals were better than expected. We will definitely be back! Such a Boulder gem!

We visited Oak, drawn in by its positive reviews and high expectations. Overall, our experience was mixed—leaning towards the negative. Appetizer: We began with a shared appetizer: a chicken liver pâté priced at $15, served with strawberry preserve and a generous portion of Roman focaccia. The pâté was flavorful but lacked subtlety. It set a promising tone, though that promise wasn’t carried throughout the meal. Main Courses: I ordered a small plate of beef tartare for $26, accompanied by sunchoke chips, truffle, and cremini mushrooms. Despite my usual fondness for tartare, I found this dish disappointing. The plate was dominated by chips, with only a few tiny pieces of tartare and cremini mushrooms. Its presentation resembled a bowl of cereal, hardly justifying the price. It was basically a $26 bowl of chips. My husband chose the pan-seared Hokkaido scallops at $38. His dish featured scallops served in a thin broth with a couple of clams. While the scallops themselves were good, the overall execution was underwhelming and did not meet our expectations for the price. Wine & Service: The wine selection and service were satisfactory, though they weren’t enough to redeem the overall experience. Additional Observations: We were put off by a 5% market surcharge added to the bill—allegedly to support increased minimum wages for the staff. This extra charge felt like a hidden cost; a more transparent pricing model, with menu prices adjusted to reflect fair wages, might have been preferable. Why not charging $40 instead of $38 for the scallops? Conclusion: While Oak shows potential with some well-crafted dishes, inconsistencies in execution and issues with pricing transparency ultimately detracted from our experience. We won't go back.

Was not overly impressed with Oak. Server was friendly and nice and it has a lovely ambiance. Food was just okay and it took a very long time to get our main courses. One of the entrees was incorrect so they had to refire that one. Not sure I will go back as the price didn’t justify the quality of the food and the wait time.

Our server was very friendly and made us feel welcome. Their take on French onion soup was amazing. Some portions were rather small. It starting with a 10 with the soup and ended with a 2 for the dessert. I had the Pumpkin Spice Latte Tart and was not expecting freeze dried whip cream (UGH). The Short ribs were amazing. A smaller than expected portion and even smaller portion of whipped potatoes. Overall it was a nice experience and would go back. Probably skip dessert.

The french onion soup was the highlight. We also enjoyed the short rib, hokkaido scallops and kale salad. All were exquisite. We left feeling like this was one of the best restaurants we've eaten at in years.
