A Northern Italian kitchen inspired by the Bacari of Venice.

Our menu is inspired by tradition and dictated by the quality and availability of ingredients. We play off the similarities between the climates of Eastern Ontario and Northeast Italy, and create our take on classic dishes made with seasonal game, seafood and vegetables. Plus, sometimes we’ll just add whatever we want.

    Dined at North & Navy last night for my fiancée and I’s anniversary. We opted for the “Dinner for Two” which included four dish items from the menu + wine pairings and dessert. The service was thoughtful with management going above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. We had the polpette, risotto, taleggio, and tournedos rossini. All were delicious and unique, with the latter standing out as a creative and flavourful way to enjoy a tenderloin.

    Un expérience exceptionnelle. Tant la nourriture, savoureuse et nuancée, que le vin (canadien ! ❤️) et l’ambiance feutrée et relaxante, accompagnée d’un service attentionné et connaissant. L’addition est un peu salée, mais ça en vaut totalement le prix ! North and Navy fait maintenant partie de mes top 10 restaurants au Canada.

    Food was amazing. Very accommodating to our nut allergy and went out of their way to assure me I wasn’t a hassle and even modified certain dishes to give the full experience of the dish without the nuts. Staff were amazing and very helpful

    Food outstanding, service always on point and the birthday touch on the menu and candle for the dessert was the cherry on top. Always such a treat when dining at North & Navy. Always consistent and exceeds my expectation. A true gem in Ottawa!

    We had four courses. All were excellent as was the service except for our main. The main dishes were delivered very hastily (almost dumped in front of us) and not by our waitress. No explanation of the dish was provided as was done for the other dishes. Also, they were warm to cold (meat and fish was warm and the rest, cold). My halibut only tasted of salt as did my wife’s beef. Unfortunate because the other courses were excellent and the waitress’s service was perfect.

    Ambience enveloping and not loud although we were there at opening for dinner. Server was engaged and helpful with recommending choices. Carefully prepared food portions might be on the smaller side but all the flavours give you little thrills when you first try them so there’s no complaints. I liked having the fresh, crusty, bread to mop up all the sauces, and by completion of a shared dessert, I was satisfied. Lovely meal. I will be back.
