HopCat was founded on the principles of bringing local craft beer a bit closer to the communities we love. We’re known for our award-wining Cosmik fries, which are beer battered, sprinkled with our signature cracked black pepper seasoning, and served with a side of warm cheese sauce. East Lansing, Michigan, is the home of Michigan State University and Spartan Stadium, which latter of which features seats for 75,005 spectators at collegiate football games. The city has many sports bars, which are bustling with activity on home game nights. The bars feature artisan beers made at local breweries and paired with comfort foods like fried macaroni and cheese, onion rings and beer-battered fish. East Lansing is also home to many family-owned and -operated Polish restaurants. Some of the local specialties include kielbasa with pierogi, sour cucumber soup with kotlet schabowy and zupa pomidorowa served alongside of smoked cheese and bread. There are also several Polish-themed bakeries that serve traditional pastries, including apple fritters along with paczki and faworki with jam.
