Discover La Nova Esquerra de l'Eixample
This area, referred to as the “new left,” used to be part of one larger neighborhood, called Esquerra de l'Eixample, but it separated into two. This newer half is relatively quiet, has parks and expansive avenues, and is predominantly filled with residential and office buildings. Joan Miró park—featuring the artist’s colorful, larger-than-life “Woman and Bird” sculpture—is one of the main attractions to see. There isn’t a huge nightlife scene here, so most residents head to other areas for nighttime entertainment, but there is a mall with a lot to offer. The Arenas de Barcelona has a bevy of restaurants, great shops, a movie theater, and the top floor (with more restaurants) offers an impressive terrace with gorgeous views of the city.
