- DDonNew York City •8 reviews5.0Dined 1 day agoStaying in the Hapuna Beach resort area, where the restaurants are pricey and the food options just aren't great. We drove to Waimei on recommendation from a guide we worked with and were pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere at FORC was welcoming, and the food was outstanding, with options we loved. The service was exceptional, and the value was excellent. Best meal we've had in 4 days in a resort.More infoFORCPrice: Very Expensive• Farm-to-table• Kamuela•4.4

We could it believe how large the servings were. And yes, hats off for the excellent Portuguese bean soup and clam chowder. Very authentic!! Can’t wait to return.More infoWSW The Steakhouse | Breakfast, Sunday Brunch & DinnerPrice: Expensive• Steakhouse• Hilo•4.1

Discover Hilo
Warm weather, stunning views, and friendly locals make Hilo one of Hawaii's must-visit destinations. But what many don't know is that a fantastic collection of restaurants also populates the area. Noteworthy Hawaiian dishes can be found in abundance in Hilo, as can solid Japanese and American fare. Hilo's best offerings are perhaps all-you-can-eat buffets, which are featured around the area and bring together an array of international options and fusion cuisines. You can't go wrong with authentic Hawaiian food, though, with dishes like poke and luau stew on the menu. And if you have room for dessert, Hilo's strawberry mochi is sure to leave a positive impression.
