The ambience and service were superb in every way. Beautiful room and view. The foie gras sandwiches are a must try. Delicious. The salmon with fig glaze was perfectly prepared and presented, tender as butter with a creamy risotto side. My wife's salad was perfectly fresh. The only thing keeping food from 5 stars is the choice of croutons - small, bland, looked like store-bought, which detracted from the overall impression. And my Manhattan seemed "off", tasting bland, maybe even watered-down. That said, we'd love to go back, and try even more dishes.

Zazu was a wonderful dining experience, my wife and I felt as though we were on a date! The ambiance was elegant, sophisticated and well designed. The menu was interesting and featured an Ecuadorian influence, both historic and modern and our dishes were delicious. The attention received from Zazu's staff was excellent and refined. The wine list ranges from the most sophisticated to local Ecuadorian wines. For all the above, Zazu was very reasonably priced! Zazu is not to be missed when in Quito Carlo Zaskorski, architect.

I am a solo traveler. I booked my reservation and was seated on time. A waitperson came to the table and explained it all then disappeared. I was then mostly ignored until a manager/supervisor noticed that I was sitting waiting with an empty table. I explained that I had been waiting for the check for 20 minutes. They comped me a cup of coffee then I left. I did not leave a gratuity.

I suggest creating more children's food options... The classic nuggets are so boring. The rest is great—amazing place and food!
