The Lexington is more than a restaurant, it’s an institution. Located on the corner of Lexington Parkway and Grand Avenue, this St. Paul community was the most fashionable at the turn of the 19th century. The St. Paul elite lived just blocks away and the first electric trolley brought visitors up and down Grand Avenue. The Lexington opened in 1935, after the end of prohibition, and was a popular neighborhood bar to gather and socialize. Previously operating as a speakeasy, the expansive wood panels were perfect for hiding a little booze and one can only imagine the shenanigans going on beyond the hidden staircase behind the coat check.     An absolute perfect date night. We wanted to do something nice before the holiday craziness and Baldamar delivered. My Italian husband loved the holiday special mozzarella appetizer platter and the extra bread we ordered was perfect. The rhuberry cosmo was a perfect drink not too strong or sweet. We got the brick chicken and prime filet to split between me and my husband for our mains and it was perfection. Our water glasses were never empty, our server was super sweet, the only complaint would be that we couldn’t make room for dessert after all the wonderful food. We will be coming back soon!

    The ambience of this resturant was amazing! Not loud at all and very welcoming. Management personally came to our table to wish our guest a happy birthday with a gift. Highly recommend this place

    This was a girls night out, and it was fantastic! If you enjoy superior customer service, and excellent food, this is the place for you. I was greeted warmly at the door, they took my coat, and put my packages at my table. Had a drink at the bar with my friends before dinner. Had fun joking around with the bartender. The drinks were as beautiful as they were delicious. Highly recommend the Lex Cup. Matt, our server, as well as the others who helped along the way, were attentive, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to be around. Our dinner was delicious. We had the Sweet Onion Boullion (get it: the presentation is beautiful and the cheese, crostini, and broth are excellent), filet mignon, sea scallops, whipped potatoes, truffle Gouda gnocchi, and asparagus. All of it was top-notch. Prepared perfectly. We can’t wait to go back in the summer and visit the rooftop patio. The old school steakhouse is alive and well at the Lexington.

    Wonderful spot for our Christmas gathering. Our wait staff was a great guy who was very attentive. Each of us enjoyed our menu selection. I got a gift card plus bonus card for next year!
