Mon Ami Gabi in Bethesda was closed for about 10 months until March 2025 for a complete renovation. Patrons are paying for the renovation via higher prices for most items. The food is mostly the same as in the past, just more expensive. The interior space seems to be much more crowded with more tables with less space between tables.

The food was excellent. We had steak fries, trout almondine and crab cake and all were delicious.

Another delightful meal and our second visit since you re-opened. Had the petite omelette with salad. Simple and just what I wanted. The lemonade was refreshing and not too sweet at all. We sat outside. Appreciate that there seems to be much more outdoor seating with the renovation, along the side of the building betwee the main entrance and the movie theatre. Our server Mariana was attentive and friendly. Please give her our compliments!

Wonderful lunch. The menu offers excellent options. And the service is outstanding. Marianna was so knowledgeable and very helpful. The patio is just perfect-it even has a canopy above. Highly recommend.

We were excited to return to the "new and improved" Mon Ami Gabi. And indeed, the renovation is stunning. Unfortunately, our meal was really just "meh". Our cocktails were so long in coming - and the restaurant wasn't busy - that the baguette (which you now pay for) was cold. My steak frites also cold - and the butter did not melt because of that. Clearly an off night as we have had so many memorable meals here before.

My wife and I have been going to Mon Ami Gabi in Bethesda since it opened about twenty years ago. It is simply a great restaurant - one of the very best in Bethesda, which has many very good restaurants. It was closed for nine months for a major renovation and expansion and we were so pleased when it finally re-opened earlier this year. Before it closed it had a great Happy Hour food menu and drink selection - since it re-opened that Happy Hour is not quite so good (for example today only one Cabernet Sauvignon which is ok - but before they had two, one of which was very good. Even so, we are still going there and enjoying it. It is very, very popular and sometimes reservations are hard to make - because it is very heavily booked. If you have not been to Mon Ami Bethesda you should definitely go there and try it out - but make sure you make a reservation well in advance of when you plan to be there.

The beautiful renovation and redesign of this venerable restaurant is stunning. Although the lengthy closing may have created a loss of original employees , the attentive, caring staff has returned in toto. The brilliant, wonderful manager, Adam, has returned along with his co workers Mark and Nestor- always friendly and welcoming. Even the best waiter in the world , Rueben, is back. No restaurant makes such elegant escargot and the duck confit is superb. . . sorry Stephen Starr. . .( a famous French restaurant owner). Also, the area’s best happy hour has returned. Don’t miss this excellent experience!!

It’s been a while since the last time I came. I’m disappointed, even though they advertise remodeling, the service and ambiance has change and not for the best. It’s noisy and the waiters seem not to know for example that champagne has its own glasses. They bring the bread and butter but didn’t place small dishes next to it. Dinner was good but the restaurant has lost the charm it use to have.

It started when the manager Nestor and the other female manager on duty realized though we had 2 booths next to each other, there was no place for the infant and stroller. So they asked us to wait a few minutes while they put tables together to accommodate our partying 10 including the baby. Stellar service! Kerry, our server had only been there 3 months and was exceptionally attentive. She rocked. Overall an amazing Mothers Day. The new and improved Mon Ami is a hit and we will be back.
