This was our first time at The Refinery. When we arrived the valet attendant opened the door to the restaurant. Nice touch #1.
We checked in and proceeded to the second floor where the fine dining room is located. It was much quieter than downstairs where the pub is located and live music was playing. You could barely hear the music from downstairs. The upstairs had nice softer music playing. Although it was dark outside, we sat facing the ocean. Nice touch 2.
We viewed the menu and ordered cocktails, salads, two fish entrees, bread, and a side of crispy Brussels Sprouts. The only negative is they charge extra for bread.
Our cocktails were very good, as well as the Caesar and House Salad with the Pumpkin Vinaigrette.
For entrees we ordered the Salmon, and the Triple Tail which was the special of the evening. The Salmon was a large piece or protein with string beans and other grains. The Triple Tail was on the small side with a puree and string beans. The Brussels Sprouts were also a hit. Nice touch #3.
The only feedback is on charging for bread and the portion size of the Triple Tail. In addition, it was our anniversary, I added it to the OT reservation notes, but no one acknowledged our special day.
We will definitely return again, and will also try their Sunday Brunch.
