Absolutely outstanding friendly staff. The owner gave me what I considered the best table with a view of the restaurant. As I mentioned it was my birthday. A most wonderful gesture. The food and wine recommendations were superb accompanied by a wonderful romantic setting. Amabiele has now become my favourite. Thank you so much to a wonderful staff!!❤️

What an ultimate dining experience! 👍👍👍👍👍 We were swimming in satisfaction. Thank You! Our table for three was cozy and comfortable, the white tablecloths were beautifully starched; hard (like they should be) and the feeling in the room was sprinkled with excitement in anticipation for a culinary adventure. With each course, we experienced the chefs exquisite creations. What a talented artist who can compose aesthetically presented dishes with harmonious and sumptuous flavors (and with sometimes a crunchy surprise). Needless to say, we generously explored the wine list making the evening a joyous celebration. Nils, Michelle and Greta made us feel well taken care of without stuffiness or pretentiousness. This is for me a TOP address in Köln and beats other Michelin restaurants with 5 Open Table stars across the board.

Allgemein ist bekannt, dass diese Tradition ihren Ursprung in Sevilla hat. Kellner deckten (tapar) die Getränke mit kleinen Tellerchen ab, um sie vor Fruchtfliegen zu schützen. Wenig später fingen sie an, eine kleine Scheibe Schinken oder andere Kleinigkeiten auf den Teller zu legen, um das Getränk attraktiver zu machen. Da sich bald herausstellte, dass die Tapas ein echter Verkaufsrenner waren, variierten Kellner und Köche ihre Tapas. Service was incredible, but they are quite aggressive about the water consumption, coming by every 5-10 minutes to refill your glasses, and frankly at 8,00€ a bottle, you would expect more from the water. Every dish was very interesting and made for a good experience, however the main course from the Omakase did not really work for me, in terms of the flavor combination, but that just personal taste. The state of the restaurant itself was quiet and chic, but there were quite noticeably cobwebs in some of the corners, and eye level… All in all I would recommend!

It does not do complete justice to call Wackes a hidden gem, as it already exists at the same location for more than 30 years. I come here ever since, when I am in Cologne. Authentic Alsatian food at ist best, never been disappointed. I was a bit concerned as it was the first time i visited after the founder handed the restaurant to its new owners, but for no reason! Food quality and service are top notch! Thank you for the wonderful evening.
