Occupying the historic Eagles Building on the corner of 400 South and West Temple street downtown, Caffe Molise opened in 1993 serving lunch and dinner daily. Featuring daily specials for lunch and dinner, with made-to-order appetizers, fresh and imported Italian pastas, main dishes and delectable desserts, we have been a fixture of Salt Lake City for 30 years. I love Cafe Madrid for the food, the Spanish wines,the ambience and the service. It is like dining in someones home. The food is excellent. Between my dining companion and I we ordered surf and turf. The salmon was not overcooked and tender, with the lightest crust from the searing. The medallions were tender and a perfectly cooked medium rare. Since this was brunch we started with a dark roast coffee that was rich and full bodied with no hint of bitterness. We complemented the meal with 2 dry white Spanish wines, one very slightly fruitier than the other, which was lovely with the medallions. Once things settled a bit we finished with a rich creamy flan. This restaurant is a locally owned gem with chefs who show care and attention to the quality of the food. I am already looking forward to my next visit.

The other dining rooms offer either fireplace ambiance or Mt Olympus views! Our private rooms host up to 10, 20, 24 and 58 guests respectively. Our privately enclosed backyard patio overlooks Mt Olympus and features fire-pit seating!

Chef Matt's flavorful, hearty cuisine is as beautiful to look at as it is to savor! Local favorites include Chanterelle Mushroom Soup, Toast Smögen and Crispy Fried Chicken!

Due to the more formal and intimate nature of the ambiance, we welcome children 4 and over. NO INFANTS.

We had a wonderful time. When you have a rare opportunity to meet with relatives from out of town, you want your dining experience to add to your evening. The wonderful food, beautiful atmosphere and professional service at Kimi’s were exactly what we needed. We could carry on a quiet conversation and enjoy our time! I highly recommend Kimi’s. The food is excellent. There's something for people with all tastes. My only recommendations would be to change your music - too many instrumentals with horrible offbeat drumming that we couldn't wait until ended. It was a distraction. Would also love to see just a little bigger menu. It would bring us back more often with more options.

My friend and I ordered 6 dishes to share, the Mushroom tartine, roasted Beet, duck croquettes, shoes string fries, elk, and finally the sticky toffee cake. All were executed and tasted delicious. Lastly our waiter Melanie, was such a lovely lady. Thank you for a wonderful evening.
