Elske means love in Danish, a nod to both David Posey’s Danish mother and the fact that the couple got engaged in Copenhagen. “Our travels in Denmark have really influenced us,” Chef Posey said. “We like that clean, simple aesthetic.” The dining room — all crisp lines, minimalist décor & soft lighting — is anchored by a wide open kitchen on one side & a small patio with a working fireplace on the other. Steak 48 in Chicago made our 15th anniversary an unforgettable evening! From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was warm, elegant, and inviting. Allie and her incredible staff went above and beyond to ensure every detail of our experience was absolutely perfect. The meal was nothing short of spectacular. We started with the stone crab, which was incredibly fresh and perfectly prepared. For our mains, we enjoyed the 45-day dry-aged ribeye and the filet—both cooked to perfection with a melt-in-your-mouth tenderness that showcased their exceptional quality. The king crab legs were a luxurious treat, and the side dishes were just as impressive. The au gratin potatoes were rich and creamy, the creamed corn was perfectly balanced, and every bite was bursting with flavor. We finished with the key lime pie that was the perfect ending to a flawless meal—refreshing, tangy, and just sweet enough. Steak 48 is a true gem in Chicago's dining scene.
