OpenTable's list is generated solely from diner reviews collected between June 1, 2020 and May 31, 2021. All restaurants with a minimum "overall" score and number of qualifying reviews were included for consideration. The overall score is made up of unique data points, such as overall diner rating, user clout, total number of reviews and regional overall rating. Qualifying restaurants were then scored and sorted according to the sum of tags for which “hot spot” was selected as a special feature.

As always we a great experience at ABH. During the holidays the decor and ambiance is really cozy and we tend to frequent it several times. On a cold and snowy day sitting by the fireplace and water is a must if you haven’t tried it! Food and drinks are always on point!

Our server Emily R was remrkable. Very attentive, helpful, friendly, smiley, courteous and just downright genuine, polite and the main reason for the high scores. The food was very good but seems overpriced. It would be beneficial to insert some noise reduction padding. Your highest score on the survey meant "energetic" as in a positive wheras it was hard to have conversation (a negative experience) because it was quite loud.

Excellent food! We ordered from prix fixed menu- French onion soup was the best we had ever tasted. We had the trout almandine and the flat iron steak both delicious. Dessert was crème brûlée and it came with a yummy shortbread cookie. We were lucky and had Al as our server. He is outstanding. Professional, attentive and very funny. We will be back again. Truly too notch. Also love the underground parking and it was free the night we came.

This was the second time we've invited guests from out of town to join us at The Common Stove. Always a fantastic dinner of incredible flavors and plating creativity. My bride and I shared two entree's: The Halibut and the Duck rolled into pasta shells. Everything was divine without exaggeration. Service with Mel was impeccable: friendly, knowledgeable, and with us at just the right times without hovering. Even the sticky toffee pudding to complete the experience was enjoyed by all four of us..... we joked about asking for a straw for the sauce! We'll be back of course because we love it and there is always more to the menu to enjoy!

My starter was crispy fried buratta with an eggplant capanatta (and chorizo jam, which I didn't have because I'm vegetarian so they brought me tomato jam). The house made Gnocchi in Chevre Sauce, wilted spinach, moon dried tomatoes, leeks, and cacio e pepe butter, finished with toasted chevre was out of this world! My Italian friend said the gnocchi was like his mom made, he hadn't had it this good since she passed away. Excellent cocktails - very chic - and a superb wine list, warm, friendly service. To finish I had an espresso and a spoonful of my friends tiramisu. Every sip and bite was perfect from start to finish. I can't recommend this hidden gem enough!

Lovely evening at Hillside Bistro. Thanksgiving dinner for two was delicious and inventive with just enough of the traditional flavours. Wine parings were excellent. There is a great food variety that everyone with find something good to eat. They serve comfort food with a good variety of pastas, some curries, salads and other meat dishes. All the food that we ate that evening was great tasting and reasonably priced. They have a good drink menu with many beers on tap and bottled, ciders and a good selection of wine. The service was good and the food was delivered hot. It is a very large restaurant with ample seating and you do not feel like the tables are too close to each other. Lov Laval used to be one of my favorite all-vegan restaurants, so it’s disappointing to see the changes in both the menu and food quality. I understand the shift to include vegetarian options—if it helps keep the restaurant afloat, it’s better than seeing another vegan spot shut down. That said, the quality of the vegan dishes has noticeably declined. Even staples like the burger and fries are smaller and far less tasty than they used to be. As someone who continues to support vegan-friendly restaurants despite these challenges, I really hope Lov Laval can improve and reclaim the excellence it was once known for.

Wow! We just moved to the Lindsay area and some friends had recommended the restaurant! They said it was a very nice restaurant and boy were they right. We were greeted by a nice young lady and she sat us at great table and our server was so nice and attentive. The food was outstanding, I had a Hawaiian pizza with pulled pork on it, sooooo good and my husband had a chicken sandwich which he can’t stop talking about! Their cocktail menu had some nice drinks on it, I had the berry sangria, I felt like I was back in Spain. We will definitely be repeat customers, that’s for sure.

Trius Winery is our favourite restaurant and by far the best value in Niagara on the Lake. It is beautiful inside and out. There is a good selection on the menu and every dish is well executed. Very friendly and helpful staff. We had fried kalamari and risotto balls to start and then half size portions of pastas (gnocchi and tortellini), with a bottle of BC wine. The flavours and presentation were excellent. The wine recommendation worked wonderfully. This is a higher end Italian restaurant, so wonderful for a special occasion, but the relaxed staff and atmosphere means it would work just as well for a more casual meal out. We'll return when the weather means we can enjoy the patio. I am glad we didn't order full size pasta portions, but these should be fine for hungry diners.

We always have an amazing meal here. We try to visit at least twice a year. Our server, Cathy, is delightful and explains the pairings at each course. Food is amazing. Wine is incredible. Even the "server helper" (sorry! Didn't get a name!!) is attentive and professional. Even laughing at my jokes, politely lol. It is such a treat to come here. We are fans!!!

Perhaps the Wooly concept is best represented by renowned Canadian artist Charlie Pachter’s Queen on a Moose” paintings. These pictures conveyed what would happen if a British pub was transferred to Canada. That pub would feature local foods, beverages and decor. It would be an All-Canadian pub featuring the best of the British pub culture. A local or home-base pub for its guests.

The Wooly was inspired by the Ontario micro-brewery explosion that occurred in the late 1980’s. The brewery industry was dominated by 3 large companies for over 40 years until the start of the craft brewery phenomenon. Teaching a course on beers at the University of Guelph Bob Desautels was keenly aware of this development. When an opportunity to open a pub in downtown Guelph emerged he decided to feature only small micro-brews on tap.

The rest is history!

We always enjoy dining at Zee’s. It is our choice for find dining in Niagara-on-the-Lake. We enjoyed their prix-fixe menu. I had the blackened basa and my husband ordered the grilled chicken breast. The service was excellent and the ambiance lovely.
